Saints rookie that’ll make an instant impact: Paulson Adebo

Sigler’s depth chart also has former Stanford standout Paulson Adebo as the No. 2 cornerback, meaning he’d be starting alongside star Marshon Lattimore.

That spot could be one of the most picked on areas by opposing quarterbacks, so it will be critical for the Saints to fill it with someone dependable. Hopefully, that role can be filled by the team’s third-round pick.

It’s not outlandish to think a player like Richard Sherman could still be added as well. However, Adebo is the option that doesn’t require potentially clearing even more cap space, and he could be a great weapon for the Saints.

The 6-foot-1 cornerback played in 2018 and 2019 but was one of many players to opt-out of the 2020 season. During his last season at Stanford, he did have 10 passes defended and 4 interceptions in 9 games.

He’s a ballhawk, but whether he’ll be ready to play at an NFL level is still up for question. The hope is that he’ll get there in terms of speed, technique, and skill before the season arrives. It’s clear they view him as a long-term building block, and his impact should be felt immediately.
