The Saints still need to work on their outer secondary.

Going into the 2021 NFL Draft, most analysts thought that the cornerback position would be the first pick of the Saints draft. They opted to go another way and help secure the outside defensive line and their pass rushers.

That leaves the outer secondary still in need. They did, however, trade up in the third round to select a cornerback out of Stanford — Paulson Adebo. They must have been high on him to trade up to get him similar to what they did last year with Zack Baun and Adam Trautman.

Regardless of if they think that Adebo can be the answer to their starting cornerback needs, they are going to need some depth. Right now, the team just has one notable filler in Patrick Robinson. This is all depending on if the team moves Gardner-Johnson to cornerback or not.
