New Orleans Saints: 3 Day 1 draft moves the team would love to see
What the Saints would love to see: Another quarterback in the NFC South
The Carolina Panthers or Atlanta Falcons could target another cornerback in the first ten picks.
The Falcons have the No. 4 pick, and they’re supposed to be targeting tight end Kyle Pitts. But, if Jones is dealt, everything is off the table. As for the Panthers, they could also be in the mix for one of their quarterbacks.
Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence will both be off the table, but at No. 8, the Panthers could target Lance, Justin Fields or Mac Jones. Now, there’s almost zero way all three of those are there, but at least one should be.
After trading for Sam Darnold (giving up quite a bit in terms of draft capital), it’d be shocking to see the Panthers bring in another quarterback, but some mock drafts have it that way.
Either the Falcons or Panthers taking a quarterback instead of bolstering their other needs could signal a rebuild, and that’s exactly what the Saints should want. It’d be huge to see Carolina snag a quarterback in the first round.
