As the 2021 NFL Draft draws closer, NFL teams anxiously look towards drafting the future of their franchises. However, some teams, including the New Orleans Saints, don’t necessarily always get it right, even though they mostly have in recent years.

The Saints own the No. 28 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and will have plenty of talent to pick from. New Orleans has been rumored to be interested in multiple different positions at No. 28 including cornerback, linebacker, quarterback, and receiver — in that order.

We have spent quite a bit of time looking at players the Saints should target with their first-round pick, but these players should be avoided.

Out of what the team is searching for, the Saints already have starting quarterback and receivers, but they are still searching for a starting cornerback alongside Marshon Lattimore and a starting linebacker alongside Demario Davis.

However, we have spent enough time talking about who the team should draft, let’s take a look at who the team should not draft in the first round of the NFL Draft. If one of them falls to round two then that’s a different story, but at the No. 28 pick, these three prospects should be avoided.
