Saints potential prospect: S, Trevon Moehrig, Texas Christian University

This prospect and No. 3 ranked safety according to CBS but is the purest safety and has been the most linked safety to the Saints in the first round. Trevon Moehrig has climbed the draft boards over the last couple of weeks potentially putting him in the late first-round or early second round.

In 2019, Moehrig left with 62 tackles, 11 passed defended, four interceptions, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles. Moehrig has been all over the field for the Horned Frogs which makes him an excellent pick for the Saints here.

Moehrig is probably the best ball disruptor on this list. He has also proven to be able to come up from patrolling the field and get at the quarterback and holding the runner behind the line of scrimmage; although, he can be reckless at times.

There are some things the Moehrig needs to improve, but the coaches in New Orleans will be able to handle that. Moehrig is probably the readiest to come into the Big Easy and fit the role that Marcus Williams or Malcolm Jenkins played if they don’t re-sign them next year.
