The New Orleans Saints, at least for the last five years, have almost perennially drafted in the latter half of the first round. This year, the black and gold find themselves all but four picks from the very bottom.

When you look at what the team needs, it is driven by the players that they lost in free agency or that they had to release. Unfortunately, because of the lowered cap this year, that was a large chunk of their 2020 depth that they lost.

The New Orleans Saints have the No. 28 pick in the upcoming draft, here is a look at the top 10 candidates to be selected there.

Last year, we talked about all the guys we could see the Saints drafting, and then when it came time for the pick, they went with an “out-of-the-box” option in Cesar Ruiz. Who’s to say that they can’t do that again this year?

Sean Payton and his staff have undoubtedly already started preparing for what is to come in this draft. Based on years prior and Payton’s draft style, the No. 28, a first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints should be in this list of 10.
