Saints need to thrive in 2021: Michael Thomas

The last thing they are going to need in 2022, in general, is Michael Thomas. Thomas is coming off of a regular season in 2019 where he recorded 149 receptions for over 1,700 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in a historic season.

Last year, he has come back and played the exact opposite. First of all, he only appeared in seven out of 16 games this year. He didn’t even play half of the season. On top of that, he had only 40 passes for 438 yards and zero touchdowns in 2020.

The Saints desperately need their superstar wide receiver back. When he has been healthy, he has shown flashes of his 2019 self, but the big-bodied wide receiver needs to come into this season and own secondary players like he did last year.

The Saints have a shot at being the next Super Bowl Champions, but they are going to have to play the best they have in a while. Brees is gone, the team looks different, but Sean Payton’s teams should never be considered out.
