Saints potential trade-up team: Philadelphia Eagles

Obviously, the Saints have needs that they need to fill, and this season, it may be more than usual. Their team, despite having lost future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees, is still among the most talented in the NFL.

The Eagles, who have the 12 and 37 overall picks in the upcoming draft along with a pair of third-round picks, cannot say the same.

Now, this type of trade-up would likely force New Orleans to deal their first, second, and potentially a future or Day 3 pick. 16 spots is no easy jump, and there may not be a cornerback in the draft worth that type of jump.

However, the Saints also have a wide receiver need. DeVonta Smith could be there, and he’d fill a huge need. Kwity Paye and even Farley are among the players being placed around that area. Those three could each fill a gap that the Saints have.

Whether this jump or not is a different question, but the Eagles could use the additional picks. It would really come down to how badly the Saints prefer the players they could take in that area.
