Saints potential corner signing: A.J. Bouye — Bouye recently signed with Carolina

A.J. Bouye was drafted in 2013 by the Houston Texans. He ended up spending four years in Houston before moving on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent three years in Florida before finding his way in 2020 to the Denver Broncos.

Now, Bouye is looking for a new home. Could he find it in New Orleans (sadly we now know it’s not)? Bouye is a one-time Pro Bowl cornerback, that has been lockdown defensively since he entered the league. In that Pro-Bowl year, Bouye had six interceptions.

Since entering the league, Bouye had 338 tackles, 1.0 sacks, 72 passes defended, 14 interceptions for one touchdown. Most recently in 2020, he had 23 tackles, six passes defended, and zero interceptions, but he also only played in seven games.

Bouye’s injury history might be part of why the veteran has made it to the second wave of free agency, but it might also be what allows the Saints to get him for less capital. He could be crucial next season alongside Lattimore.
