Bashaud Breeland, CB

This was Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland’s seventh year in the NFL. He spent the first four as an underrated and never talked about Washington Redskin. He spent his fifth year with the Green Bay Packers as a backup cornerback. Now, he’s a former Super Bowl champion.

The road might have been difficult, but he is just getting started. Breeland will hopefully be a cheaper option than some of the veterans the Saints didn’t have the chance of signing. He is a starting-quality cornerback and could play perfectly opposite Lattimore.

In 2019, Breeland started 15 games and had two interceptions, eight passes deflected, two fumble recoveries one for a touchdown, and 48 tackles. Breeland became a force for the Chiefs during that SB run being one of the most untargeted cornerbacks in the league.

In 2020, Breeland continued his hot streak starting all 11 games he appeared in. He totaled 38 tackles, two interceptions, nine passes defended, and one fumble recovery. Breeland would be a seamless fit in Sean Payton’s defensive scheme.
