3 big-name FAs the Saints couldn’t sign because of cap space
Corey Davis, New York Jets
The Tennessee Titans lead a high-powered offense led by Ryan Tannehill. Between him and Derrick Henry, Corey Davis, and A.J. Brown, the Titans went to the AFC Championship in 2019 against the Kansas City Chiefs before losing.
Corey Davis was one of the biggest wide receiver threats for Mike Vogal this year. He has 65 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns. His catch rate is over 75% which is good for a receiver that likes to get down the field in a hurry.
He also has 15.1 yards per catch which is more than ANY Saint on the roster last year. He would be the down-field threat that the team could use to open up the underneath. A player we thought Sanders could be but didn’t turn out to be.
Corey Davis would have been a great addition to the team at not a huge price tag. He was only making roughly $6 million. However, in his new contract with the Jets, Davis is bringing in $12.5 million per year.
Again, far greater than the Saints could afford.
