The New Orleans Saints have little cap space to use, but they still have several holes on their roster that certainly should be filled prior to the 2021 season.

There’s no denying the New Orleans Saints have little salary cap to work with. They had to clear nine figures worth of space just to get under the cap and had to do more to be able to re-sign Jameis Winston and franchise tag Marcus Williams.

That movement meant releasing several impactful veterans.

Emmanuel Sanders, Janoris Jenkins, and Trey Hendrickson were all some of the names that won’t be returning to the Big Easy. The Saints had a solid offseason given their situation, and they could continue to improve their roster.

While it’s unlikely they get a highly impactful free agent at this point in free agency with their amount of available space, the Saints still have the ability to add talent as we saw with their signing of former third-round pick tight end Nick Vannett.

Adam Trautman was the only tight end on the roster, and they made ends meet to add another.

Mickey Loomis is a master with the cap, and with eight picks in the upcoming draft, the team will still have multiple avenues to improve their roster. That said, let’s dive into three positions the Saints can still add to in free agency.
