With the cap issue that the Saints have been dealing with since the end of the season, we knew that it would be a slow offseason. We didn’t quite know how many releases and non-re-signings that there would actually be.

However, in a non-eventful offseason, the team did manage to at least re-sign two major players on the team. They also added a fullback from Carolina to a one-year contract as well. There may be a few more signings, but I don’t anticipate much.

The New Orleans Saints have signed or re-signed these three players, and here is a grade for each of these moves so far in this free agency period.

Looking at the players that they added or kept on their team, each one of them can receive a “grade.” Now, this grade is dependent upon a few key items. Frequency of projected playtime, needed depth, versatility, and contract size.

Looking at each of those will determine how good the Saints did in each of their three signings thus far. I would say anywhere above a B at this point is good as the Saints look to restructure a team that lost a lot of components.

Here are New Orleans’ three free-agent grades.
