Justin Houston

The Saints lost talent on their defensive line, one that was easily among the most dominant in the league last season. While the top-tier options may be off the board, the team will have veterans that may take discounts to come to the Big Easy.

Justin Houston is another option. At one point, Houston was the league’s best pass rusher. He’s been to the Pro Bowl four times and was also elected to the All-Pro team in 2014. That season he had 22 sacks.

Houston, like Kerrigan, has aged like fine wine. In each of the last four seasons, Houston has totaled over eight sacks. Spending this past year with the Colts, Houston took the quarterback down eight times.

Having started 16 games in the past two seasons, Houston’s also been consistently available throughout his career. He’ll have a market, but what’s the price tag for him is the question. He may outprice the Saints.

If he isn’t out of the budget, Houston would be a solid addition.
