The New Orleans Saints have holes on their roster, and after shedding nine figures in cap, they need to rebuild their team with relatively cheap additions.

Because they cleared over $100 million in cap space, the New Orleans Saints were forced to shed several impactful players, many of which were on the defensive side of the ball.

Although they will bring back superstar linebacker Demario Davis and defensive end Cam Jordan, the Saints will need help to maintain their top-five defense.

The team lost Trey Hendrickson, who ranked second in the NFL in sacks. They also released cornerback Janoris Jenkins and linebacker Kwon Alexander. Sheldon Rankins is another name that will play elsewhere in 2021 after his contract ended in 2020.

With the draft next month, the Saints will have more opportunities to add talent. However, they may have too many holes to fill and not enough high-value picks to add the personnel needed to keep them playing at an elite level.

For New Orleans, players are still on the market for them to sign. That said, let’s dive into five defenders that the Saints can bring in to enhance a few holes on that side of the ball.
