Jadeveon Clowney

The Saints were close to signing defensive end Jadeveon Clowney last offseason, and while he’s still a top free agent, he didn’t have the season that would command a massive salary from an organization.

Clowney opted to join the Titans instead of the Saints. After spending the majority of his career with superstar J.J. Watt, Clowney has struggled these past few seasons, playing for the Seahawks in 2019 and Titans in 2020.

In those two seasons combined, he totaled 21 games played, 19 starts, and 3 sacks. He had just 50 tackles as well. Those numbers for the former No. 1 overall pick just aren’t good enough to keep bring touted as an elite rusher.

Clowney does make an impact, and since he knows the Saints organization, it wouldn’t be shocking for them to get the job done this time around. With Hendrickson out and Davenport still injury prone, it’d be ideal to have another strong option on the line.
