The New Orleans Saints are working with a tight salary cap situation, but they may still have some available targets on the free agency market.

There’s no denying the New Orleans Saints had to make a plethora of unfavorable moves this offseason.

Players like Janoris Jenkins and Kwon Alexander, key assets on the defensive side of the ball, will not be returning. On top of those two, the team had to part ways with Nick Easton, Thomas Morstead and Jared Cook among many other players.

That was just the team releasing players. The New Orleans Saints also watched Trey Hendrickson leave and sign with the Cincinnati Bengals where he’ll have a reunion with former teammate Vonn Bell.

Combine all these moves, and it’s a tough road to getting back to the NFC playoffs. While this team’s core is still together, they may need more, and with a cap situation will in limbo, the Saints should have enough to bring in a few helpful free agents.

That said, let’s dive into the five best available players that fit both the Saints’ need and cap situation.
