Corey Davis/Carl Lawson, New York Jets

When the schedule was released and the New Orleans Saints drew the New York Jets it was at least some relief. After seeing teams like the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers, an easy team with an easy win was a victory.

So we thought… In an effort to keep quarterback Sam Darnold around and productive, the Jets went out and signed wide receiver Corey Davis. They then turned around and added Bengal’s prolific pass rusher Carl Lawson to their defense.

Last year in Tennessee, Davis had 65 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns. He was only behind A.J. Brown in those statistics last year and as aforementioned with Jonnu Smith, it was a very heavy run offense.

Carl Lawson is coming off of his best season with the Bengals. He had 5.5 sacks and six tackles for a loss in 2020. What was supposed to be one of New Orleans’ easiest victories on the season might have just become something that they are going to have to fight for.
