The New Orleans Saints are open to trading backup running back Latavius Murray. One of just a handful of teams still in the red, New Orleans is looking to clear more and may do so by trading Murray and veteran receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Per MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Saints could either trade or cut Sanders and Murray. Kwon Alexander was also a name that Breer mentioned as one that could be traded but noted that he’s more likely to be cut.

With Latavius Murray on the chopping block, here are three teams that shouldn’t just pay the price the Saints demand but should overpay for him.

Murray is more than likely going to be traded, especially since the Saints put the franchise tag on Marcus Williams. They’ll have to clear more cap space, and one way they can do it is by parting ways with Murray.

Having had over 600 yards in both the last two seasons, the veteran running back has cemented himself as a key part of the team’s offense. That’s why it’ll be brutal for fans to part ways with him.

That said, Murray will come at a cost to teams, but these three should consider overpaying for him.
