Mitchell Trubisky

Most Saints fans would look at the name Mitchell Trubisky and immediately want nothing to do with him. However, that would be the wrong attitude to take. Trubisky was once a Pro-Bowl quarterback and still has that potential in him.

The Chicago Bears traded for former Super Bowl champion Nick Foles last offseason. The quarterback war that ensued between the two was something special to watch, but no one ever won with Matt Nagy. Now, they are looking for another quarterback.

He never gave either one enough time to develop a rhythm and get into a swing. Trubisky has only been in the NFL for four years. Trubisky has only played for one team and still has most of his prime in the NFL ahead of him.

If no one else offers Trubisky a huge deal, the Saints might get him cheap. If that is the case, then they might have signed their dark-horse quarterback and found a long-term quarterback. That is what makes Trubisky special here, he has the potential to be both.

It is even emphasized with Sean Payton’s “quarterback whisper” coaching staff.
