The New Orleans Saints are reportedly open to trading Malcom Brown. They should get some teams looking to pick up the veteran defensive tackle.

While the free agency period hasn’t officially started, the New Orleans Saints are already starting to clear cap space. They’ll need to do much more, but releasing players like Nick Easton and Jared Cook among several others is a good start.

Drew Brees gave an early indication that he may retire when he agreed to have his contract restructured. Mickey Loomis is doing what he can to get the team in a position to re-sign Marcus Williams and Jameis Winston.

Williams is thought of as the priority. For New Orleans, another player that may be a casualty of the cap is Malcom Brown, but instead of releasing him, they’ll be looking to deal the defensive tackle.

Given how dominant the Saints’ run defense was, dealing Brown and watching Sheldon Rankins walk could have a huge impact on their team.

That said, without any potential destinations having been named, let’s dive into three players that should get on the phone with Loomis and offer something for the 27-year-old former first-round pick.
