Matt Milano

The New Orleans Saints brought in Kwon Alexander last season, and he played well.

But, as expected, he was injured before the postseason. The Saints, with Alex Anzalone becoming a free agent, need someone to pair with Demario Davis, and one of the best linebackers hitting the open market is Buffalo’s Matt Milano.

The fourth-year former fifth-round pick has an outstanding season. He’s one of the league’s most complete linebackers, notching 3.5 sacks, 45 tackles and 9 quarterback hits in just ten games. Now, he also had injury issues, and his cost may be lofty as well.

Milano should be worth the price though, just maybe not for a team in a debilitating cap situation. He was ranked the 11th best cover linebacker since 2018 by PFF. He can do a little of everything which is exactly what defensive coordinators crave.

There’s little hope that the elite linebacker makes his way to the Big Easy, especially since they gave Demario Davis a new contract last season. One is allowed to wish though, right?
