Justin Houston

It feels as though Trey Hendrickson is already gone.

While the team could still manage to re-sign him, there are other veteran options available. With Watt headed to Arizona, Justin Houston could be a premier defensive end still available for teams that lack draft capital.

As with Watt, Houston’s best years are behind him. He’s not going to be the player that put up a league-high 22 sacks. However, his 2020 season was arguably more productive than Watt’s, and he did it on the Colts, a team that crushed expectations.

Houston, 32, recorded eight sacks. He also had two safeties and 25 combined tackles, seeing snaps in all 16 games.

Houston started every game as well. He’s still contributing at a high level, and if the Saints can get him for cheap, he could change the dynamic on their line and bring Marcus Davenport another mentor.

It’s a win-win situation if Houston makes his way to the Big Easy.
