Age

Jameis Winston is only 27-year-old and is going into his seventh season in the NFL. For a quarterback of Winston’s caliber, I would expect him to be in the NFL for over 15 years. He also still has much of his prime ahead of him.

Russell Wilson, on the other hand, is 30 years old and is going into his tenth NFL season. While Wilson may have several quality years left, he has maybe four to five years before he starts declining as a quarterback.

When you look at the two of them side-by-side, the younger Winston is more intriguing. We have pretty much seen the extent of how good Russell Wilson can be. Winston could be just hitting his highest point and continuing to soar.

According to Kyle Mosley from Saints Fan Network, “He is still young when considering many quarterbacks play well into their late 30s. However, only one quarterback in the past four seasons received a contract more than two years in length when not starting under center for most of the prior season.”
