Marcus Davenport

This one feels like the obvious answer and the one that is most easily going to come to fruition.

A starter before he couldn’t get on the field to start the season, Davenport lost that role to Hendrickson. Let’s hope once again that 2021 is the breakout year for the Saints’ former first-round pick.

Davenport did get in on some of the action last season, but the 6-foot-6, 24-year-old had just 1.5 sacks. He had two pass deflections and eight quarterback hits to go along with that sack and a half.

It was far from his best season, and entering his fourth season in the NFL, Davenport will need to find his rhythm. He’ll once again be given a chance to thrive as he’s likely the frontrunner to replace Hendrickson if he leaves.

Having struggled to stay on the field throughout his career, injuries may again be Davenport’s biggest hindrance this next season.
