The New Orleans Saints could easily lose Trey Hendrickson this offseason, and with little cap space, here are four options for them to replace him with.

Given that the New Orleans Saints are deep in the salary cap hole, they may not have the cap space to re-sign some players that they’d easily be able to retain in the normal offseason. You would’ve been called crazy had you said this time last season that that player would be Trey Hendrickson.

Drafted in 2017 with the elite class of Alvin Kamara, Ryan Ramczyk, and Marcus Williams, Hendrickson, along with Williams, is up for a new contract, and he’s likely going to command quite a high price tag for any potential suitors.

The Saints locked up a good bit of their money last offseason as they paid Taysom Hill, Alvin Kamara, and Demario Davis. The contracts given at Hill and Kamara seemed a bit over the top, but the team saw their value and there’s no argument being made against that decision.

This time around, they’ll have little wiggle room as Mickey Loomis will undoubtedly try to make a push for the defensive end that finished last season with 13.5 sacks. Assuming New Orleans can’t match any other contract, Hendrickson may part ways.

If he does, who would replace him on the line? Let’s dive into four potential options.
