How can the Saints replace the key FA losses?

As we discussed with the previous question, the Saints don’t even have enough cap to be under the limit, much less be able to sign back any of their key free agents. They have at least a handful of key free agents that will likely be lost next year.

They already, with their current roster, have the answers to free agents like Jared Cook (Adam Trautman), Trey Hendrickson (Marcus Davenport), and Craig Robertson (Kwon Alexander). However, there are also a couple of them that they don’t have answers for.

Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins is not going to be re-signed because of his high price tag. They have other defensive tackles like David Onyemata, Malcolm Brown, and Shy Tuttle, but two of the three of them will have to play all game every game. We don’t know if they can.

The other free agent that they don’t have an answer for is safety Marcus Williams. After losing Vonn Bell last year and now, most likely, Williams, they’re going to have to find someone else at that position for next season.

Most likely, the draft will be the answer to replacing both Williams and Rankins.
