The New Orleans Saints, although Drew Brees has yet announced his retirement, will likely be in the market for a quarterback but not one of these four.

It may be a difficult offseason for general manager Mickey Loomis and the New Orleans Saints. Pressed tightly up against the salary cap, the team has done a solid job of cutting $30 million before March even hits.

Their options to continue to cut cap space will start to become limited, but the team can still restructure some contracts while potentially releasing other players that aren’t essential to the team’s dominance in the NFC South.

It’s also assumed that players like Sheldon Rankins and Jared Cook won’t be back on the roster in 2021. The team’s cap space that they can create should go towards either re-signing Trey Hendrickson or Jameis Winston.

Assuming they can’t re-sign Winston like Pro Football Focus’ piece on the top 150 free agents predicts, the team may have to look elsewhere, and with many teams moving on from what they at one time deemed a franchise quarterback, the Saints may have their options.

With Taysom Hill on the roster, they don’t have to take just any option. That said, let’s dive into four quarterbacks that, if on the table, the Saints should still avoid.
