Number Three: Defense

Defense wins championships, and if you don’t believe me, rewind the Super Bowl from just a week ago. The New Orleans Saints are fortunate to have one of the best defensive units in the NFL and it looks like they’re going to retain Dennis Allen as the team’s defensive coordinator.

Every successful quarterback has a great defense to help create extra possessions for him and that will be the same case for the Saints in 2021.

The New Orleans Saints will be bringing back the majority of their defense in 2021, and that will be crucial to the success of the team as a whole. The Saints had a top-five defensive unit in 2020 and will be looking to get even better as the team could bring in some great assisting talent this offseason.

If the defense can keep opponents’ points off the board and allow Jameis Winston to play pressure-free football, he could easily guide them to a Super Bowl appearance.

The Saints will experience some ups and downs with Jameis Winston as their quarterback, but the potential is clear as day with Winston under center.

If the Saints utilize the strengths of their defense to carry them through some tough games, Winston will reward them with great outings more often than not. If the Saints re-sign Jameis Winston this offseason, they could have their franchise quarterback for years to come.
