Number Two: Surrounding Talent

One player can’t win a Super Bowl for a team as we saw with Kansas City losing despite a valiant effort by Patrick Mahomes.

One thing that the Saints do have that will help out Jameis Winston and his development is outstanding surrounding talent. The Saints may have one of the best offenses in the NFL and Jameis Winston will thrive as the head of the unit.

The Saints will be returning running back Alvin Kamara, wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Michael Thomas, and tight end Adam Trautman. The Saints will also keep their entire starting offensive line intact heading into 2021 which will be great for Jameis Winston.

One of Winston’s biggest issues throughout his tenure in Tampa Bay was not having an elite offensive line to keep him upright, but that will not be the case in New Orleans.

Winston has also never had a running back who can catch passes out of the backfield like Alvin Kamara can and Winston could certainly use that to his advantage.

It’s a much easier transition if the supporting cast around the quarterback is already Super Bowl ready, and that’s exactly the way the Saints are. If Winston gets a full offseason under his belt as the starting quarterback he could thrive in the Big Easy next season.
