New England Patriots

The New England Patriots need someone that’s going to be a better long-term solution than Cam Newton. Now, there’s no faulting Newton for what he did with what that offense supplied him in 2020.

Newton had a solid season, but he’s not the same MVP-like talent he was half a decade ago.

Winston would be a massive upgrade as a passer, but New England also needs to upgrade the threats on their offense. The former MVP only threw for over 250 yards three times this past season.

He had a career-low eight passing touchdowns. While he may still be starting quarterback worthy, the Patriots have the cap space to go out and get someone that can captain their offense better than Newton did this past season.

They also weren’t great as a team, ending with a 7-9 record. With the 15th pick in the draft, the Pats should be able to bring in fresh weapons. New England must figure it out. That said, it should also be noted they were among the teams interested in Stafford.
