It’s only a matter of time until Drew Brees formally announces his retirement to the world, and the Saints could opt to look elsewhere for his replacement.

Ever since the Saints failed to win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this season, the rumors for who the Saints should pursue at the quarterback position have been heating up.

The Saints have mentioned their utmost confidence in impending free agent Jameis Winston who spent the 2020 season learning behind Drew Brees and Sean Payton, but the organization may still look elsewhere for their future at the position.

The New Orleans Saints are quite literally in salary cap hell, but Mickey Loomis has worked his magic before.

With what should be a hot quarterback market this offseason, the Saints may struggle to bring back Winston on a deal that favors both sides. If that leaves them empty-handed and the team doesn’t love Taysom Hill under center permanently, they may look elsewhere.
