Cameron Jordan

Another player the New Orleans Saints aren’t going to be trading is Cameron Jordan.

While it’s easy to say that after closely following the team and understanding the leadership and energy he brings, on paper, he didn’t have a better season than Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson finished top ten in sacks with 13.5 and is a free agent.

For Jordan, while he’s still under contract, his contract is another massive one the team could get off to save cap space.

But, that’s just not happening. Jordan followed up a 15.5-sack season with a 7.5-sack season. The 6-foot-4 31-year-old is still elite, and while he had a down year, there’s no reason to believe that he can’t still be an effective player on the defensive line.

While his sacks were down, Jordan’s passes defended, tackles for loss, and other categories still around his career average, so the productivity was still there aside from getting the quarterback on the ground a few more times.

Jordan is the heart and soul of the defense and certainly won’t be dealt off the roster.
