Justin Reid, S

Justin Reid was the top tackling safety on the Texans last year. He also would have been the No. 2 leading tackler on the Saints if he was in New Orleans last year behind only Malcolm Jenkins. Now, the Saints don’t have bad safeties. In fact, they have three good ones.

That means that this fire sale trade partner would have to depend on one sole thing — an offseason re-sign. Starting safety Marcus Williams’ contract is up and he is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and could cost a lot of money.

If the Saints decide that they don’t want to pay Williams north of $5 million per year, they could swipe this quality safety from the Texans. Currently, Reid is only on a contract with Houston where he makes $1.288 million per year.

If the Texans are truly in a rebuild then they would be willing to part with Reid for draft compensation. Especially when they already have a player like A.J. Moore who could step into his place. This trade makes the most sense for New Orleans.
