Could a Michael Thomas outbreak on social media mean the beginning of the end for the superstar wide receiver’s time on the New Orleans Saints?

In a recent tweet from the Saints superstar receiver, he was speculated to have taken a shot at current Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees, and his ability to get the ball down the field tied to Michael Thomas’ poor performance.

Thomas missed over half of the season’s games with injury and was on disciplinary action for another one.

It is not the follow-up year the team was hoping he would have after breaking several Saints and NFL records the year before. However, that is how the tide turns sometimes and teams become forced to move on although there are no indications the Saints are planning to deal Thomas.

Could Brees’ retirement keep Thomas in New Orleans and happy? It could, but it’s more likely that the Saints find someone who could utilize Thomas as a deep threat as well as on those slant routes that Payton loves so much.
