Matt Ryan

Ok, let’s get into the players you may actually want to see in the black and gold. That said, first up is Matt Ryan which means I may have to take back that first statement as Ryan has been the Saints’ rival for years.

Well, with the Falcons looking at a top-five pick and Ryan on thin ice, it wouldn’t shock anyone if he was traded elsewhere this offseason. Ryan, given his play this past season, shouldn’t command too high of a price.

The 35-year-old has made a Super Bowl and knows how to win at a high level. Recently, he hasn’t played well though. Part of that has to do with the offensive line as he’s taken over 40 sacks in the last three years, having done that just once in his first 11 years in the league.

As for his numbers, Ryan had 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He had a league-high in completions and attempts. The Falcons relied on him too much, and he didn’t deliver. The Saints wouldn’t rely on him that much, and he could return to dominance.

It’s a long shot, but given the Saints’ strengths, it could make sense.
