The New Orleans Saints should be prepared for Drew Brees to retire, and these five outsiders may have a real option to start for the team in 2021.

While much of 2020 was a success filled for the New Orleans Saints, the postseason once again left them entering the offseason with so much regret. At 12-4, the team’s fourth 10-win season, the expectations were high for New Orleans.

It is expected that Drew Brees will retire, and if he does, he went out on a rough note, throwing three interceptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Divisional Round loss to their NFC South rivals.

The Saints, who went in as the second-overall seed in the NFC, will now watch the team that beat them compete in the Super Bowl. It’s going to be a tough reality for both the team and Mickey Loomis when the offseason hits as well.

Players like Trey Hendrickson may not be able to be re-signed, and when it comes to who will be the team’s starting quarterback in 2021, that’s also up in the air as internal candidates like Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill will make a strong case to be the starter.

That said, let’s dive into five out-of-the-box players that the Saints could look to make their starting quarterback in 2021.
