Kwon Alexander

Kwon Alexander was traded to New Orleans right before the trade deadline this year. It was a great sight, seeing the Saints bring in a linebacker — a quality one at that. A position that the black and gold desperately needed to upgrade.

However, he really never got going. Alexander only recorded 27 tackles, 0.5 sacks, four passes defended, and two fumble recoveries. That was all before Alexander ended up tearing his Achilles’ tendon ending his season with the team.

Kwon Alexander is owed $12.5 million next year. The Saints need to either restructure Alexander’s contract after this massive injury or they need to release him and let the spot be taken over by previous third-round pick Zach Baun.

Alexander didn’t show me enough this season to make me think he is worth over $10 million per year after an Achilles injury. At the very least, they can target another linebacker in the NFL Draft this year to possibly replace him.
