Jameis Winston will leave the door open for a new quarterback.

Probably the favorite right now to win the starting quarterback job in New Orleans if Brees retires is Jameis Winston. He has been with the team one year after being not returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, he threw for over 5,000 yards and 30 touchdowns the year before.

Many have suggested that Sean Payton has held out Winston specifically so that no one else can see his talent while he works with him, but that is pure speculation. What we do know is that if Winston’s agent was smart, he would shop him around the NFL.

With him being a free agent, he has the right to do that.

With that also looming over the Saints head, that should lead them to this solution even more. If Winston is going to be a starter, he is going to want starter money, the Saints should be able to get the aging star cheaper.
