Replacement

The New Orleans Saints lost Teddy Bridgewater last season after Brees re-signed with the organization. Most Saints fans thought that Bridgewater was destined to be the replacement for Brees, but he just didn’t want to retire yet.

After Bridgewater left, the backup quarterback spot was up for grabs.

That was until they used free agency to sign the future of their franchise — Jameis Winston. The one-year contract Winston signed needs to be transitioned into a bigger contract as a franchise quarterback.

Who else has a backup quarterback that threw for 5,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in the season previously? While he might have also thrown for 30 interceptions, the coaching staff for the Saints will correct that issue quickly if they haven’t already

Winston wasn’t given the possibility to win in Tampa Bay. In New Orleans, Winston might be the player to win the franchise another Lombardi trophy. Even though they say the position is up for grabs, Winston will likely be the heir.
