Drew Brees, QB

Who else would have been credited with playing a big part in the Saints going to the divisional round then quarterback Drew Brees. He once again has endured a season with injuries and setbacks and he has taken them a thrived.

In this game, he ended 28-for-39 on completions with 265 yards and two touchdowns. In bigger significance which can also be credited to the offensive line of the black and gold, Brees didn’t take a single sack for any offensive yardage loss on Sunday.

He also added three rushes for two yards and was a millimeter short of the goal line on a designated quarterback sneak on the one-yard line. Brees will now welcome in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Tom Brady next week in the divisional round.

The matchup between Brees and Brady will mark the first time in the NFL playoffs history that a game will be started by two quarterbacks over the age of 40. This could be the last season for both of the aging quarterbacks.
