The Saints defense line is just too good

Mitchell Trubisky and David Montgomery are going to struggle against a formidable offensive line. The Saints are led by both Trey Hendrickson and Cam Jordan.

While Jordan’s had a down year, Hendrickson has thrived and is among the league leaders in sacks. David Onyemata and Sheldon Rankins are the two interior linemen who have helped bolster the Saints’ top-tier run defense.

The Saints rank sixth in sack percentage and eighth in sacks per game. The Saints are also one of the six teams in the NFL that allow under 100 rushing yards per game.

If those numbers don’t tell you what you need to know, you can look back at when the two teams battled earlier this season. Nick Foles started that game and was sacked five times. While Montgomery did rush for 89 yards, they’ll need more to take down the Saints this time around.

It seems unlikely they’ll get it as the Saints will also have a fully healthy Marcus Davenport coming off the bench as well. This line is going to be impactful, and a major reason the Saints win on Sunday.
