As the New Orleans Saints look to make one last Super Bowl push with Drew Brees, their first test comes against the Bears in the Wild Card round.

For the fourth straight season, the Saints are the champions of the NFC South, which means they are in a familiar spot: hosting a game in the playoffs.

Over the past three seasons, the postseason has not gone as planned for the Saints- they have found every way imaginable to lose.

However, 2021 means that a new future could lie ahead for them. After all, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have struggled in the postseason for years, won the 2020 World Series; if you get into the dance enough, eventually things should pan out.

In what appears to be Drew Brees’ last postseason run, the Saints’ first test is the Chicago Bears. Due to the new postseason format, the No. 2 seed no longer gets a bye, meaning they are forced to play in the opening round, while the 8-8 Bears were able to make the playoffs.

Yet, the Bears are far from an easy opponent. When these two teams faced off in Week 8, the game went into overtime, while New Orleans actually trailed by multiple scores in the first half.

Considering that they have been eliminated by an NFC North team in two of the past three postseasons, including as a heavy favorite last year, they cannot afford to take Chicago lightly. With that being said, let us dive into this intriguing postseason affair!
