Most Improved – Trey Hendrickson

The most improved player this year is undoubtedly Trey Hendrickson. I don’t even know if there was even really conversation to be had otherwise. He came in for an injured Marcus Davenport early in the year and absolutely dominated the NFL.

In fact, he finished with the No. 3 most sacks in the NFL (13.5). He was in company with players like Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, and T.J. Watt. He also added the most tackles for a loss on the Saints. It truly was a dominant year for Trey Hendrickson.

Rookie of the Year – Adam Trautman

This year’s rookie of the year was a challenge. There were three in my opinion that could have taken this award home — Adam Trautman, Marquez Callaway, and Zack Baun. I chose Adam Trautman because of what he did this year, but also his ceiling.

Trautman ended the year as a top ten pass catcher on New Orleans. He finished with 15 receptions on 16 targets for 171 yards and a touchdown. Tight ends are hard to come by, and I think the Saints found their one of the future.

Cesar Ruiz should’ve also gotten some love here, but Trautman showed his high profile as a future stud at the tight end position.
