Failing to protect Drew Brees

In the two losses that the Saints faced against the Eagles and the Chiefs, the offensive line was not on their best game. In the game against the Eagles, the offensive line let Taysom Hill take five sacks for a total of 29 yards.

Drew Brees was out for an extended period of time because he took a massive hit. The number one priority that the Saints have going into this game needs to be keeping Brees healthy for the playoffs and that means protecting him.

A failure to protect Brees could be a failure to secure a final season win. The Panthers’ defensive, including defensive rookie of the year candidate Jeremy Chinn, have been playing the best ball recently than they have been playing all year.

As always, we hope that the Saints end this regular season with a win and head into the playoffs with high hopes. However, if they play too soft, it will also be easy to let this divisional rivalry slip their hands.
