(6-9) Washington Football Team @ (4-10-1) Philadelphia Eagles

This doesn’t necessarily have direct implications on the Saints, but if Washington wins, they have sealed the division and the No. 4 playoff spot in the NFC. If they lose, it will be up to the Giants and Cowboys for the division championship.

This ultimately determines how hard someone else’s road to the next round is going to be. Washington recently released Dwayne Haskins so if Alex Smith can’t go, the whole team’s playoff hopes will be riding on Taylor Heinicke.

(11-4) New Orleans Saints @ (5-10) Carolina Panthers

The last one should be the most obvious. The Saints themselves need a win against the 5-10 Panthers on Sunday. If they win, then they can hope for all of these other pieces to fall into place, but they need to take care of business first.

The last time the Saints played the Panthers, they won 27-24. It might have only been a three-point game, but New Orleans controlled most of it. I would expect that in this last game of the season, the black and gold should have this one in the bag.
