Marcus Mariota

The Raiders have moved back to starting Derek Carr after Marcus Mariota put on a show last week.

To keep their playoff chances alive and with Carr sidelined with a groin injury, Mariota came in and won the game for Las Vegas. It has been the only game he’s played in this season. Mariota was 17-for-28 and ended with both one touchdown and one interception.

He kept the game alive with his feet. In nine rushes, Mariota had 88 rushing yards. He was the reason they were able to win. He showed enough to remind fans why he was originally a No. 2 overall pick.

Mariota is good enough to play at a high level with the proper support around him. The Saints are good enough to give him that support. Mariota had 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions in an 8-7 campaign with the Titans during his second season.

He’s learned since then and could be one of the league’s better quarterbacks.
