New Orleans Saints’ Alvin Kamara is the best running back in the NFL
New Orleans Saints’ four-time Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara proved on Christmas Day why he is the best running back in the entire NFL
The New Orleans Saints went off against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day. They ended up beating the Vikings in their revenge game from the 2020 playoffs. They won 52-33 inside the dome.
There were only two drives for the Saints on Friday that didn’t result in points for the black and gold. Whether a touchdown or a field goal, they scored on 8 out of 10 drives — seven touchdowns and one field goal.
It was incredibly impressive.
Besides for two interceptions, Drew Brees has a decent game throwing for 319 yards, but the real star of the show was in the backfield. Alvin Kamara ran a whopping 22 (!) times for 155 yards and six (!!) touchdowns against the Vikings.
He really wanted to make sure fantasy managers were rewarded with the playoffs winding down.
He also added three receptions for 17 yards in the air, but the ground game is what killed the Vikings. Latavius Murray also ran 12 times for 72 yards. Kamara, most definitely, was the star of the show in the gold color rush.
Kamara helped the Saints tie an NFL record for most rushing first downs in a single game. He was the main contributor, assisting in the team running for 21 first downs on Friday. This is only the fourth time in NFL history a team has rushed for over 20 first downs.
Kamara also tied the NFL record for the most rushing touchdowns in a single game. On top of all that we have already mentioned, Alvin Kamara rushed for a career-high in rushing yards in this game.
It seems that when it comes down to it and the Saints have their backs against a all, Alvin Kamara is the savior of the team. He has been a big component of the organization up to this point.
He will continue to be a big part going forward. Alvin Kamara proved tonight going up against another top rusher that he deserves the title of “The Best Running Back in the NFL.” He will look to keep it up against the Panthers in the last game of the season.
