Marcus Davenport

The last two seasons, Marcus Davenport hasn’t contributed too much after the first dozen weeks. While his spot has been taken by Trey Hendrickson, Davenport will be useful as a rusher in the postseason.

Davenport’s potential benching would be for both a mix of safety concerns and just for the fact that Hendrickson has been playing out of his mind this season. The fourth-year Hendrickson ranks second in the NFL with 12.5 sacks, averaging almost one per game.

In his three-year career, Davenport has 12 sacks without not even a quarter of those coming this season. He’s been given the snaps this season as well and just has not produced at the same level.

So, yes, they’ll need him for the postseason to help with their rest and depth, but regardless of that, there’s no reason he should be considered the better option over Hendrickson at this point either.
