Drew Brees

In Week 10, Drew Brees went down with several fractured ribs and a collapsed lung.

That’s a brutal set of injuries for a 41-year-old quarterback. Now, while he may be able to play, the Saints should keep him off the field if for no better reason than to ensure that he’s completely protected.

Also, while Taysom Hill likely would’ve lost to the Chiefs and did lose to the Eagles, he’s proven that he can handle his own against teams that are far from elite.

The 6-foot tall Brees threw for 234 yards last week and three touchdowns. He helped lead the Saints against their toughest regular-season opponent, and even without Michael Thomas, they contended well which is what matters.

That said, let’s now do the right thing and let Brees take another week off and potentially come back for when the team faces an easier matchup in the Panthers, where he can get his feet under him and regain that high-level confidence.
